Matthew Cronin '21 became the latest Shamrock to earn his Eagle Scout ranking, as he was recognized on August 4th, 2020.
Matthew is a member of Troop 38 out of South Lyon, and the already difficult process was made even more challenging due to COVID-19. His final meeting with his Board of Review even took place outside at a park.
Matthew's Eagle project was restoring an outdoor classroom at his grade school alma mater, St. Patrick School in Brighton. He restored an old outdoor classroom which included repairing and replacing rotted boards on the benches and platform, cleaning and re-staining these items, building a table for the teachers to use on top of the platform, and laying mulch and cleaning up the grounds. He managed the fundraising, organizing and workers to get the job done. In total, Matthew has completed 36 merit badges and 3 palms.
