CC Return to School Plan recognized on WXYZ-TV 7

Dear CC Community:

One of our guiding principals at Catholic Central is to put students into challenging situations today so they will be better prepared to face life challenges in the future. Of course, there has never been a challenging situation quite like Covid19.

When the virus first appeared in Michigan, our team immediately went into action, putting a plan in place that allowed us to finish the 2019-2020 school year seamlessly. Over the summer, we formed the Catholic Central Covid19 Committee (C4) to review every aspect of student life, from the time they get on the bus in the morning to the time they leave campus in the evening.

The C4 team developed a detailed plan that has allowed us to have students in the building, but is flexible enough to allow for online learning, if needed. The team’s careful planning has led to a successful launch to the new school year.

We could not have done this without the cooperation of our young men. The Catholic Central student body has submitted to temperature checks, worn their masks and maintained social distancing, all in an effort to ensure the best educational environment in these challenging times. The entire faculty and administration can’t say enough about how our students have stepped up to this monumental challenge.

The world is beginning to notice our efforts. On Sept. 15, WXYZ-TV 7 in Detroit included Catholic Central as an example of how to safely return to school.  Here is a link to the broadcast:

The successful return to the classroom has been a total team effort between the entire Catholic Central community – faculty, administration, students and families. I couldn’t be more proud of how this community has rallied to ensure our students continue to get the best education possible.  As we move forward in these challenging times, we ask for your continued prayers for the health and safety of our community.
