Fall 2020 Update

Hello Catholic Central Families,

As we continue to evaluate our return to school plan we wanted to share some updates and reminders.

Mr. Marmul and Mr. Sova also put together a short video highlighting some of the changes to the building, and you can view that on our website here.

  • Monday, August 10 - Students will receive their assignment to Group A or Group B.
    • Brothers will be kept together.
    • We cannot make exceptions to the split for transportation purposes.
    • Please contact Jake Marmul at jmarmul@catholiccentral.net or 248-596-3874 if transportation is an issue.
  • Monday, August 17 -  Group A will report for orientation on campus. Group B has the day off.
  • Tuesday, August 18 -  Group B will report for orientation on campus. Group A has the day off.
  • Wednesday, August 19 - Full instruction begins, with Group A on campus and Group B remote.
  • Friday, August 28 - DTE has informed us of a likely power shut down.  CC plans for full on-line instruction for that day.  Information will be forthcoming as to the content of that day.

As you may notice, we are offering an orientation for the entire school this year. This is to allow our teachers the first day to showcase new protocol and lay out their expectations for students who will be engaging in both in-person and remote learning.

*****The freshman only orientation on August 14 has been cancelled, as we are going to absorb that into the orientations on August 17 and 18.

The first period of the day (homeroom) will be utilized to welcome students back to the year, go over entry protocol, explain lunchroom procedures, go over bathroom and passing time protocol, and introduce new faculty members.

SHAMROCK LE@D (Live Education at a Distance)

If you wish to take part in a fully online option, you must register for Shamrock LE@D by August 10.

I also want to remind all families that your health forms should be uploaded to your Magnus account on myCC.   If you are not able to schedule a physical, or prefer not to, we will accept only the MHSAA Questionnaire for this year.  All students must have the MHSAA form filled out regardless of whether they plan to participate in a sport or not.

Based upon school policy, all student drivers are required to park on campus during the academic school year. Each student must register their vehicle(s) and display an authorized parking permit. Parking spaces at Catholic Central are allocated on an assigned basis only.

The Parking Permit fee for 2020-21 is $55.00 and is payable at the time of online registration. The deadline for completing early parking registration is July 31, 2020.  Link to parking pass registration.

Families can register for a bus pass using this link. The deadline for a completed form has been extended to Monday, August 3.

We will continue to share updates with you as we have them.

Thank you, and may Mary, Alma Mater, continue to bless and guide us.
