On Wednesday, January 22, Jimmy Burns ‘04 came to Catholic Central to speak at our annual Sophomore Career Conference on Finance, Marketing and Sports Management.
Jimmy and Mitch Eisenstein '05 spoke to more than 100 Sophomore Shamrocks about his career as a financial advisor. Jimmy currently works as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch.
Jimmy came away from his presentation impressed by his presentation attendees. “I was very impressed by the questions that the group of students asked because our Q&A session lasted right up to the bell. The key takeaways were for the students to understand the importance of continuous hard work and the value of effective networking.”
Finally, we asked Jimmy to share some of his favorite memories from his time at CC, as well as, how it prepared him in his personal and professional life. “I have so many great memories of my time at CC, but my favorite moments were winning the Golf and Hockey State Championships in 2003. The time and effort that was required to study for and pass the CPA and CFP exams are both great examples of Discipline and Knowledge. I have spent a few years involved with a men's prayer group at OLGC that has provided more Goodness in my life than I could have imagined. As a father of a young son (class of 2037 and 4th generation Burns at CC), I plan to continue to utilize the ideals of Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge as my wife and I raise him to be a man of faith!”
“Teach Me Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge” is the motto of the Basilian Fathers and the sacred mission of Catholic Central High School. For ninety years, the graduates of Catholic Central have made a positive impact locally, nationally, and around the world.
