On Sunday January 5th, senior Tristan Croteau was recognized for his VFW Voice of Democracy Speech. The 2019-2020 theme is: What Makes America Great. The excerpt below, shows how Tristan’s speech focused on how our nation responded after  9/11 and how it has helped to influence his future career path.

“In times of unspeakable and seemingly insurmountable tragedy, we as citizens of the United States unite and prevail.  This couldn't be more evidenced in the aftermath of one of our country's darkest hours, the 9/11 attack...We thrive through our people and we triumph over tragedy.  Our unity as a people and as a nation has inspired my desire to pursue a career in National Security. I strive to protect the nation that I have the privilege of calling home. ”
