2019 New Student Orientation

At 8:00 AM on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, the Robert Santello '58 gymnasium was filled with the sound of nervous and excited new students, and their families, as they began their four year journey at Detroit Catholic Central High School.

Their day began with a Mass, an introduction to the Basilian heritage, technology setup, and a visit to all of their classes to meet teachers and get a feel for the layout of the building.

Almost 40 current sophomores, juniors, and seniors from student activities ended summer vacation early to come in and help the new Shamrocks find their way!
After lunch and their afternoon classes, the day concluded in the gymnasium with the singing of the Alma Mater and some classic CC cheers. The good news is that the Class of 2023 has some volume in their lungs!

Other facts about the newest Shamrocks:
  • 253 freshmen & 9 new transfers
  • 67 middle schools and 9 high schools
  • 35 cities
  • 52 zip codes
  • $317,250 in need-based tuition assistance
