Class of 2023 Scholars Recognized

On Thursday, February 7, 2019 nearly 50 young men from throughout Metro Detroit gathered to be recognized for their accomplishment of scoring in the top 10% nationally on the High School Placement Test, and to learn more about the academic offerings at Catholic Central. Students being recognized were awarded a framed certificate, leather Catholic Central portfolio, and a commemorative yard sign.

Mr. Griffin '96 outlined the expectations in the English department, and Mrs. Sharkey, the Math Department Chair, spoke about the options the Math department provides the students.

Hayden Kibbey '19 spoke about the student experience, and was joined by fellow seniors David DeBacker, Patrick Lee, and Charles Hilu for a student panel to answer questions from the crowd. Other seniors on academic scholarship, as well as current faculty members, were also present to answer questions.

The CC Mothers' Club provided the decoration and refreshments, and the Jazz Band provided the entertainment for the afterglow.

Congratulations to the members of the Class of 2023!
