74th Boys' Bowl Celebration Complete!

The 74th Boys' Bowl week was a fantastic celebration of all things Catholic Central!

Monday's Tug of War competition, Tuesday's All School Mass, and sign painting all throughout the week led up to Friday's day of organized chaos.

The day started with the Shamrock Shuffle and presentation of floats, then the students moved inside to join senior parents and alumni for the annual Boys' Bowl Assembly. The Mural, the Drum Line, the band, the football team, Tug of War finals, Road Rally winners, the annual skit/video, and guest speaker Ryan Bell '90 all contributed to the incredible atmosphere.

The Shamrocks also kept very busy outside of the school day during the week.

The CC Soccer team brought home its 3rd straight CHSL championship and tennis punched their ticket to the state playoffs with a 3rd place regional finish. The Shambots hosted their first annual Cars & Coffee show, and the Academic teams brought home a number of victories in East Lansing and Monroe.

The Alumni Reunion took place Saturday night with representatives from all the way back in the 40s returning to their Alma Mater.

Sunday morning started off with our Boys' Bowl Alumni Mass in the main gymnasium, where our Alumni Glee Club provided music and four of the Basilian Priests - Fr. Huber, Fr. Elmer '46, Fr. Noelke '71, and Fr. Moslosky - celebrated the Mass. The 2018 Athletic Hall of Fame class was introduced, and then the Advancement office provided a breakfast for those in attendance.

The 74th Boys' Bowl football game kicked off at 1pm on Sunday under picture perfect weather, The band and drum line performed again, the student section was loud and proud, fans packed the stands, and the football team handled business on the field wearing throwback gold and blue jerseys to pay homage to the jerseys worn in the first Boys' Bowl game placed in 1944 as they defeated DeLaSalle by a score of 10-7.

The weekend wrapped up with the annual Homecoming Dance, and Monday was a day off for rest, recovery, and clean up. Our DECA Club took advantage of the day off of school by going to the Senatorial Debate.

A busy, blessed weekend celebrating 90 years of teaching Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge.
