Shamrock Professionals - formerly the Young Professionals Organization - is Catholic Central's professional network for all alumni. Whether you're two years out or twenty-five, the group exists to help Shamrocks network, mentor one another, and further their careers, rooted in faith and community.
Members gather at quarterly networking events, connect through the member directory, and support the next generation of CC graduates.
Leadership
Derek Simancas 2011
Derek is a devoted husband to Amy and father to their son, Theodore. A proud Detroit Catholic Central alumnus, Class of 2011. He earned his degree from Michigan State in 2015 and has spent 11 years as a loan officer, currently with Total Home Lending, helping Metro Detroit families achieve homeownership. He's glad to help lead the Shamrock Professionals Network. The family lives in Troy, where he enjoys golfing and fishing.
Mike Birney 2011
A proud CC alumnus, Class of 2011, Mike went from professional lacrosse to five years at Google to founding his own marketing agency - and now serves as CMO of 1 Natural Way and Go Strong Supply. He's glad to help lead the Shamrock Professionals Network, building meaningful connections among fellow Shamrocks. He and his wife, Annie, live in Plymouth, MI where they enjoy spending time with their four children.
Mike Tibbits 2011
Mike leads outreach and membership for the group. His focus is making sure every professional Shamrock - from the trades to the boardroom - knows there's a network behind them. He reviews new directory submissions with the board.
Nick Hines 2011
Nick manages the group's LinkedIn presence and communications. He shares event recaps, member spotlights, and opportunities from across the network. Have news worth sharing? He's the one to tell.
