Accommodations at Detroit Catholic Central are individualized academic supports that are provided to eligible students enrolled within the Intervention & Accommodation Program (IAP).
These accommodations include supports that can apply to daily instruction, daily assignments, and both formative & summative assessments. These accommodations can and should be implemented in collaboration between each of the student’s content-area teachers & members of the IAP/LSC staff. Many of these accommodations will be implemented within the Learning Strategies Center (LSC).
Accommodations at CC can include the following:
- Extended time on assessments (50%)
- Access to an alternate testing location
- Access to a reader for assessments
- Placement within CC's semester-long "IAP Study Hall Course"
- Access to LSC Office-Hours (Monday-Thursday, 2:50-4:00 pm)
Interventions at Detroit Catholic Central are individualized academic supports that are provided to eligible students enrolled within the Intervention & Accommodation Program (IAP).
These interventions include supports that apply primarily to daily course instruction and a student’s in-class experience; interventions do not apply to a student’s completion of formative or summative assessments.
Interventions are guided by the IAP/LSC staff and implemented by a student’s content-area teachers within content area classrooms.
Interventions at CC can include the following:
- Preferential seating
- Access to copies of teacher/student notes
- Access to study guides for unit assessments
- Access to essay outlines and/or graphic organizers
Note: As stated within the formal IAP application, it is important to understand that the accommodations and interventions included above are an objective and comprehensive list. Academic services beyond those listed above, even if listed within formalized assessment documentation, are not offered at CC and are not guaranteed.
In order to be eligible to receive IAP services, a formal application to the program MUST be completed upon a student's acceptance to Detroit Catholic Central.
