    Classification:    Full-Time, Exempt
    Base Hours:       Monday-Friday 7:15 a.m.-3:15 p.m.; extended evening and weekend hours for school-related events as needed
    Pay:                     Based on experience   

    Overview:
    Detroit Catholic Central High School (“Catholic Central”), located in the suburb of Novi, Michigan, is seeking a gifted, qualified individual for its next Principal, beginning no later than August 1, 2019.  Catholic Central has been under the direction of the Congregation of St. Basil (Basilian Fathers) since its inception in 1928. It is a highly successful, respected, and much celebrated college-prep educational institution for young men, with current enrollment more than 1,000 students.

    Essential Job Functions:  Responsible for Academics, Extracurricular Activities, Student Discipline, Student Activities, Athletics, and parental and other matters delegated by the President.  Serves as the educational leader with a dynamic vision for Christ-centered Catholic education. Responsible for establishing high standards of academic excellence, dynamic student life, and an atmosphere of vibrant faith in Christ.

    Responsibilities:
    • Promote a strong Catholic identity and positive morale among faculty, staff, students and volunteers which focuses on the school’s motto, Teach Me Goodness, Discipline and Knowledge.
    • Recruit, hire, develop, retain and lead a high-caliber faculty and staff who are committed to the school’s mission and Basilian charism.
    • Provide oversight for establishing, assessing and/or maintaining academic accreditation, curriculum content and faculty effectiveness to ensure academic excellence, safety/emergency procedures, admission procedures, academic records, school statistics, school calendar, and daily schedule.
    • Provide well-rounded extracurricular activities and Christian service opportunities in keeping with the school’s mission.
    • Communicate effectively and collaborate with all school stakeholders and the public.
    • Ensure compliance with archdiocesan policies and federal and state laws.
    • Identify and implement best practices in leadership, instruction, student achievement, and student (services) issues.
    • Provide an orderly school environment which promotes student self-discipline, character development, personal responsibility and accountability, and respect for themselves and others.
    • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the President.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to be collaborative and diplomatic, manage internal politics and build consensus.  
    • Role model for integrity and promoting high ethical and professional standards to stakeholders in the school.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills; good listener.
    • Innovative and critical thinking abilities; proven ability to define problems, draw valid conclusions and execute decisions.  Willingness to take risks and solve problems creatively.
    • Proven ability to manage people, departments and projects.
    • Proven ability to maintain necessary paperwork pertinent to the Office of the Principal.
    • Proven time management skills; ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines.
    • Ability to establish and maintain confidential and professional working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, parents, students, vendors and the general public.
    • High proficiency in Microsoft products, Google Mail and social media (i.e., Twitter, Facebook) preferred.  Knowledge of Blackbaud preferred.
    • Flexible with time; available for evening and weekend school-related events.

    Qualifications:
    • A practicing Catholic with a vision for transforming Catholic education in the Basilian tradition.
    • A Master’s degree or higher from an approved program in school administration or educational leadership offered by an institute of higher education (IHE).
    • A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
    • Minimum of 15 years of related progressive experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a high school administrator, preferred.
    • Hold, or show evidence of being able to obtain in a timely fashion, State Department of Education Administrator’s certificate (recognized by the Michigan Department of Education).
    • Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education.
    • Completed, or willing to complete, the Archdiocese of Detroit Protecting God’s Children course.

    The Catholic Central High School of Detroit currently has a part-time position opening for a dependable bus driver.  Catholic Central is a 200,000 Sq. Ft. private educational facility on a 113 acre campus located in Novi, Michigan.  

    Essential Job Functions:
    Drive school bus to transport students and staff to athletic and school events.

    Responsibilities:
    • Transport students and staff in a safe and timely manner to events.
    • Fuel bus as required.  Sweep floors and clean windows.
    • Report any accidents, mechanical bus malfunctions or needed repairs to the Director of Facilities and Transportation or his designee.
    • Support and enforce all school policies and rules, safety regulations and guidelines.
    • Attend to emergencies when necessary.
    • Attend safety meetings and other related meetings.
    • Take classes as required in, First Aid,CPR and other classes relating to your job.
    • Perform related duties as assigned.
    Physical Demands 
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and walk.  The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms about the head and reach forward.  Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    Qualifications
    • Must have a cell phone for communication.
    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
    • Must have CDL B license with air brake endorsement and passenger and student endorsement.
    • Completed a Michigan school bus driver continuing education class preferred.
    • Current DOT medical card.
    • Must be willing to work day’s night’s weekends as needed. Flexible hours.
    • Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug testing.
    • Ability to work independently.   Must be available for emergency call-in.
    • Proven time management skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines.   Being punctual.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
    • Strong communications skills (written and verbal); able to communicate information clearly and in a timely fashion.
