Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Base Hours: Monday-Friday 7:15 a.m.-3:15 p.m.; extended evening and weekend hours for school-related events as needed

Detroit Catholic Central High School (“Catholic Central”), located in the suburb of Novi, Michigan, is seeking a gifted, qualified individual for its next Principal, beginning no later than August 1, 2019. Catholic Central has been under the direction of the Congregation of St. Basil (Basilian Fathers) since its inception in 1928. It is a highly successful, respected, and much celebrated college-prep educational institution for young men, with current enrollment more than 1,000 students.
Essential Job Functions: Responsible for Academics, Extracurricular Activities, Student Discipline, Student Activities, Athletics, and parental and other matters delegated by the President. Serves as the educational leader with a dynamic vision for Christ-centered Catholic education. Responsible for establishing high standards of academic excellence, dynamic student life, and an atmosphere of vibrant faith in Christ.
Promote a strong Catholic identity and positive morale among faculty, staff, students and volunteers which focuses on the school’s motto, Teach Me Goodness, Discipline and Knowledge.
Recruit, hire, develop, retain and lead a high-caliber faculty and staff who are committed to the school’s mission and Basilian charism.
Provide oversight for establishing, assessing and/or maintaining academic accreditation, curriculum content and faculty effectiveness to ensure academic excellence, safety/emergency procedures, admission procedures, academic records, school statistics, school calendar, and daily schedule.
Provide well-rounded extracurricular activities and Christian service opportunities in keeping with the school’s mission.
Communicate effectively and collaborate with all school stakeholders and the public.
Ensure compliance with archdiocesan policies and federal and state laws.
Identify and implement best practices in leadership, instruction, student achievement, and student (services) issues.
Provide an orderly school environment which promotes student self-discipline, character development, personal responsibility and accountability, and respect for themselves and others.
Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the President.

Ability to establish and maintain confidential and professional working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, parents, students, vendors and the general public.
High proficiency in Microsoft products, Google Mail and social media (i.e., Twitter, Facebook) preferred. Knowledge of Blackbaud preferred.
Flexible with time; available for evening and weekend school-related events.
A practicing Catholic with a vision for transforming Catholic education in the Basilian tradition.
A Master’s degree or higher from an approved program in school administration or educational leadership offered by an institute of higher education (IHE).
A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
Minimum of 15 years of related progressive experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a high school administrator, preferred.
Hold, or show evidence of being able to obtain in a timely fashion, State Department of Education Administrator’s certificate (recognized by the Michigan Department of Education).
Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education.
Completed, or willing to complete, the Archdiocese of Detroit Protecting God’s Children course.
