Admission to Catholic Central

Catholic Central accepts male students who have completed the 8th Grade. To be admitted to the 9th Grade, students must take the STS High School Placement Test, an entrance exam administered in Catholic and private high schools across the country each year. Students must indicate Catholic Central as a choice of high school. An application is part of the formal admission process and is provided after the completion of the Placement Test. Letters of acceptance to Catholic Central are mailed out approximately six to eight weeks after each placement test to those candidates who qualify for admission.

Admission to the 10th and 11th grades is based on subjects taken in the previous school and overall GPA at the time of transfer. Catholic Central does not accept transfer students into the 12th grade.

Description of Placement Test

The Scholastic Testing Service (STS) - High School Placement Test (HSPT) measures a student's ability in cognitive and basic skill areas and can be administered in a relatively limited amount of time. Since the entire battery is standardized at the same time, with a population of entering high school students, the end results are directly comparable for all test areas and can be related to the level of the students at the time of entering high school.
