Thank you for your interest in Detroit Catholic Central High School.

To begin your application process, please read the following information and click the link at the bottom of this page to create an account.

Catholic Central does not facilitate mid-semester enrollments. Start dates for new students take place at the beginning of the year in August, and at the start of the second semester in January for transfer students.

Please note that the requirments listed below are general guidelines, and final application decisions are at the discretion of the Administration.

Incoming 9th Grade Applications

Students looking to begin 9th grade at Catholic Central should apply in the fall of their 8th grade year. The initial application deadline typically falls in mid-December, and the first round of acceptances is sent out on the 4th Friday in January. After that date we move to a rolling admissions process on a monthly basis.

Criteria for 9th grade admission includes the following:

A minimum 2.5 GPA
- Candidate should not present any failing grades in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade
- Candidate should present a C or better in all core subjects
A positive disciplinary record with positive conduct marks and teacher recommendations
A positive attendance record
A score from the High School Placement Test (HSPT) taken during 8th grade (registration link available in myCC checklist)
An interview with the Admissions Office
Admissions Essay

All incoming 9th grade applicants are automatically considered for academic and GDK scholarships. Families interested in tuition assistance must indicate need on the application, complete a consultation phone call, and submit a complete FAST form with their application in order to be considered for aid.

Transfer Applications

Catholic Central accepts students at the start of each semester for grades 9-11. Transfer opportunities for students entering their senior year of high school are exceptionally rare, and typically are reserved for families who are undergoing a full family move.

Criteria for transfer admission includes the following:

A minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 in core classes (English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Foreign Language, and {if coming from a Catholic school}, Theology) with a C or better in all classes
Sufficient high school credits in place to meet Catholic Central's graduation requirements upon admission
- Applicants that are credit-deficient will not be considered
A positive disciplinary and attendance record for the prior 3 years
- Applicants may not have been expelled or be in the process of expulsion/dismissal from their present school

Transfer students are not eligible for scholarships, but may apply for need-based assistance if it is available. Families interested in tuition assistance must indicate need on the application, and submit a complete FAST form with their application in order to be considered for aid.

Decisions are sent to applicants with completed admissions checklists
- Should your son be accepted, you will be able to log in to view the decision, accept his spot in the class, establish your tuition account, and submit your deposit all through myCC
Incoming 9th grade applicants are sent decisions the 4th Friday of January, and rolling decisions are sent out on a monthly basis afterwards (as available)
Transfer students will be accepted on a rolling basis, but are only eligible to start classes at the beginning of a semester in August or January

Students Learn Stress Management Tips During Dale Carnegie Drive Development Day

Today’s Drive Development Day was hosted by Director of Educational Services and Youth Development, Kathy Tosoian, MA, LPC., and featured teachings from Dale Carnegie’s well-known professional development courses based on stress management, self-improvement, and how to sharpen and improve performance.

FIRST Robotics Results This Weekend

CC Robotics had an incredible weekend, winning their first playoff match to put them in first place. The team went undefeated in the playoffs to capture their 7th event winner banner in seven seasons and won the Excellence in Engineering award for their robot design.
